My name is Jordan Oelrich, and in my early teens my entire life was turned upside down when I was introduced to fly fishing. It wasn't long before my aspirations for professional golf fell to the wayside of learning everything humanly possible about the sport of fly fishing. 

I began my professional career in the fly fishing industry at the age of 17, and have since been fortunate to educated hundreds of people in the sport of fly fishing. However, I remember when I started, it was far from easy. I had no idea what I was doing, there were times when it was downright embarrassing. 

Everything changed when I began getting the right information from people who knew what they were talking about; people who could point me in the right direction and help me remove some of the guesswork. That is my ultimate purpose with Fly Fish University. 

When I began designing Fly Fish University, I wanted to create an online fly fishing school that people could bring with them in their pockets. During my years as a fly fishing guide, one thing that began standing out to me was that it is simply impossible for someone to remember everything they learned during a day on the water. In fact, we forget (on average) 70% of everything we have learned in a 24 hour period. 

I wanted to find a way to make a greater impact on fly fishing, and reach a greater scope of people. It did not take long for me to realize that the internet was the most powerful vehicle for what I wanted to achieve. 

A few months ago, I began asking fly fishers from around the world what they wanted to learn most about fly fishing. What were their pain points, what were the things that kept them from enjoying fly fishing at the level they knew they could? 

In celebration of the launch of Fly Fish University, I will be sharing my answers to as many of these questions as I possibly can through a campaign I designed called "21 Days of Fly Fishing Education". 

This is completely free, and will be shared on both the Fly Fish University Podcast and right here on the Fly Fish University Blog.
